Here’s some recent pictures from our recent trip to Tahoe. You may also notice some pictures captioned as “From the Regis Photo Shoot”. We took these pictures in hopes of getting the kids on Live With Regis and Kelly as part of their “Beautiful Baby” contest. I don’t know who they had judging the pictures but they were obviously bribed because neitheer Tyler nor Jillian even made it on TV much less became a finalist.

I deeply apologize for the lack of new picture these past several weeks. I’ve been hard at work on Tyler’s 2nd Year DVD. The DVD is nearly complete. We have a few more interview segments to record put a bit more editing to get those interview segments into the overall movie but it’s almost there.

So now I can go back to posting new pictures every Saturday. I had a lot of catching up to do so there’s a lot of pictures in this update. Here’s the albums that have been updated.

I finally posted some new pictures of the kids.

Remember, in order to simplify the updating process Tyler’s pictures are now being included in The Kids album.

Jillian is rolling over in both directions quite frequently now. There have been a couple of times where I have layed her on her back and looked away for just a few seconds. Then I find her on her tummy! She’s trying to catch up with Tyler as fast as possible.

I have no idea. The second after a baby is born every one has to chime in on who he or she looks like. This happened recently for me after Jillian’s birth. I hear all kinds of opinions, “She looks just like you, I don’t see any of Michael in her at all.”, “Wow, are you sure you are the mother, she looks just like her daddy”, “I think she is a perfect combo of the two of you.”

Well here is my opinion. Sometimes I see a little bit of me, sometimes I can see some of Tyler, or Michael. Other times I can even see my brothers in her. But most of the time I see Jillian. You can go back and forth for hours critiquing each feature her nose, eyes, mouth, hair, fingers, ears, toes, etc. But after all that she still looks like Jillian. While it is fun to see bits of me in her I will not say definitively who alone she looks like. Please leave a comment on this entry and let me know what you think. Go ahead I have heard it all. But I don’t think anyone can argue with me that she definitely looks a heck of a lot like Jillian.

We have new pictures of the kids posted online now. I’m also making a slight change to how pictures are posted.

In order to keep the complexity of updating to a minimum I decided that each child will get their own album up until they turn two years old. Each kid’s personal album will contain pictures of just one child without the other child also being in the shot. That way each kid will get their own special album with pictures of just them without any siblings.

However, after two years of age all pictures will go into the general “Kids” album. This album will contain pictures of the kids together or any picture of a kid over two years old.

I know it sounds convoluted but it’s the best compromise that give each child their own album but at the same will make it easier for me to post family pictures in the future without getting into the situation where I’m maintaining four or five different albums based on who’s in the shot.

The two updates today are The Kids (Vol. 1) and Jillian (3 – 6 mos.).

We took Tyler to his first real movie this evening. We have been wanting to do this for a few months now but haven’t been sure how he would handle sitting still in the dark for 90 minutes. This evening we decided to take the plunge and find out.

We went to go see Disney’s Valiant and was pleasantly surprised to find that Tyler was a near perfect angel through the whole thing. He sat down in his own chair with his feet barely reaching the end of the seat. He had a little bag of popcorn in between his legs and his eyes were riveted to the screen while he continually shoved popcorn into his mouth.

Halfway through the movie he wanted to sit with Daddy so I held him in my lap for the remainder of the show. Near the end he did get a little tired and wanted to get down but he never looked away from the screen and was perfectly quiet and behaved until the very end.

Much to our surprise Jillian also watched the movie throughout the whole show as well.

All in all, I think it was a successful outing and something we’ll repeat at some point in the future.
